Executive Director
The Oak Park/River Forest Mental Health Authorities seek a talented senior administrator for the Oak Park based position of Executive Director. The Executive Director is employed by and works for the Community Mental Health Board, Town of Oak Park. The Township of River Forest contracts with the Community Mental Health Board, Town of Oak Park to provide administrative support and staff for the River Forest Township Mental Health Committee.
The Community Mental Health Board, Town of Oak Park is a planning, coordinating, and funding entity, also known as the local mental health authority. It is responsible for serving individuals who have a mental illness, development disability and/or substance use disorder. Our goal is to address not only service needs and concerns, but also to provide a guide for the continuing development of an innovative and exemplary community mental health service system.
The Executive Director works with the Board of Directors (Oak Park) and Mental Health Committee (River Forest) and staff to establish and execute major goals and objectives for the Community Mental Health Board and River Forest Mental Health Committee. He/She will provide direction and leadership toward the achievement of the CMHB’s philosophy, mission, strategy and its’ annual goals and objectives. He/She serves as the boards’ ambassador and spokesperson to regulatory agencies, service providers, granting agencies, government officials and other community and civic organizations.
Responsibilities cover a range of administrative functions including board development, budget and fiscal control, coordination of the grant process, fiscal and programmatic monitoring of funded agencies, outcomes management, program development, public relations and staff supervision.
The ideal candidate will be currently working within the Illinois behavioral health community and possess leadership experience in government service environments or 708 Boards. Other key requirements include prior experience with customer relationship management, team leadership, project management, financial planning and reporting.
Minimal requirements:
A Master’s degree in human services, social work, psychology or related discipline is necessary. 7+ years in the mental health field of progressive management and clinical experience within a human service and/or public entity, the last four years of which have been in a position of senior or executive management including budget development and administration is expected.
Applicants will document a track record of professional leadership and experience in planning, needs assessment, evaluation and related techniques for community behavioral health based services.
